Poem on Vijaya Dasami by Srinivas Kanchibhotla

Before language, there just were sounds (Sabdamu). These sounds were a refinement over a period of time of shouts, screams and other noises (dhwani). The noises (and their underlying emotions) in turn were modeled around ruffles, rumbles, whooshes, echoes and other onomatopoeic sounds inherent to the nature (nAdamu). It is a belief that creation is just a graphical representation of Omkaaram, and the heart of it beats the constant drum of "praNava nAdamu".
