Open letter about piracy in Telugu film industry

Some feedback about Piracy:

I absolutely am with you that Piracy is bad. But you need to look at it in the perspective of reality.

The main entertainment for the Andhra population is Movies. Yes, people like to watch movies for time pass. Movies are not accessible for many people for few reasons:

• People want to watch new movies but need to go to a near by town/city if living in villages and it is hard for the whole family to go and watch these movies. It is expensive. –Is the industry doing anything about it?
• Vulgarity in Telugu movies: A Family cannot go together to watch a movie. It is embarrassing to sit with your mom, dad, sister to watch a movie b/c almost every Telugu movie is Vulgar. Watching it in the home may make it easy to step out or stop the movie if found embarrassing.
• look at people who live abroad: it is difficult to go to movie with family as kids don’t let you watch the movies without distractions. Also, it requires people to spend about 30$ per movie on average. But if you can get it home on DVD, it is 3$. What do you prefer?

The problem with Telugu industry is that they never release DVDs for many of the movies and almost never for the good/great/hit movies. If they stick to same kind of rules as Hindi, Hollywood movies, then piracy could be controlled if not eradicated completely. That is releasing the original DVDs of all the movies after it played 100days or 6months (like Hollywood movies) or Hindi movies.

Telugu Movie industry wants to make money and don’t seem to worry about the reasons behind these issues. As long as they solve the issues and not think about general public, I guarantee things will not change IMHO.
