Krishna (Sudheer Babu) is son of a millionaire. He loses his mother at an early age and his father and stepmother treat him badly. Siva (Sundeep Kishan) is in Hyderabad after love failure in his village. Karthik (Aadi Sai Kumar) is a middle class youngster who is insecure about his girlfriend who studies in USA. Ranjith Kumar (Nara Rohith) is a cop who want to score big money in any deal so that he can settle in life. Mahesh (Rajendra Prasad) is a middle-aged car mechanic who falls in love with a widow in his street. All these characters chance upon in a pub where Krishna’s 5-crore worth vintage Rolls Royce car (Shamanthakamani) is stolen. Rest of the story is all about who stole it!
Actors: Best part of the cast in this film is that each and every character is relevant. Rajendra Prasad has made sure that a few scenes are hilarious with his perfect comedy timing. It’s a responsible character for Sudheer Babu who longs for his mother. His character is pivotal in the film and is very difficult to perform. He has done very well in this emotional role. Sundeep Kishan plays the most popular character in the film. He entertains with his carefree body language and dialogue delivery. Aadi Sai Kumar plays a role of a guy with no filter and he speaks instantaneously without thinking. He has done well in proposal scene after getting drunk. Nara Rohith seems to have become a brand for unusual cop roles in Telugu cinema. After Rowdy Fellow, Asura and Appatlo Okadunde Vaadu, Nara Rohith plays another cop role and it’s interesting. Raghu Karumanchi provides entertainment with his typical Telangana dialect. Chandini Chowdary plays the role of a girl who is troubled by his uncouth boyfriend. Suman plays the role of a bad father. The dubbing done to him is very loud. Hema and Surekha Vani make their presence felt. 
Story - screenplay - direction: Any film of this genre is based on a single incident. It’s a screenplay based film. It’s about a stolen car. The director has introduced 5 main characters and creates compulsions for these characters to become desperate. All these five characters could be suspects. First half of the film is about setting up of the plot and then creating an incident. Second half in narrated in an investigative mode where each character adds up information sequentially. The last 15 minutes of the film holds key and the director has made sure that justice is served to each of the main characters. Writing screenplay and executing it convincingly on screen is a very difficult task. Director Sriram Adittya has succeeded in narrating single dimensional story of less-tried genre successfully. On the flipside, the love thread for Rajendra Prasad is slow and characterizations of Suman and Surekha Vani are loud.
Other departments: The first credit in technical departments of the film goes to the excellent background music composed by Mani Sharma. Cinematography by Sameer Reddy is superb and goes well with the genre. Dialogues written by the director Sriram Adittya are very witty and contemporary. Editing by Prawin Pudi is crisp. The production team and the director should be appreciated for making the film is less number of working days and releasing it on time. Production values by Bhavya Creations are grand.
Analysis: Making thrillers in Telugu is not an easy job. Director Sriram Adittya has attempted a clean thriller by roping 4 heroes in and giving them apt characters. Any thriller comes with a hiccup of being slow at first. The movie becomes interesting as soon as storyteller starts connecting dots in second half. Climax of the film is very good. On a whole, Shamanthakamani is an authentic thriller that entertains. You may watch it!
