Story
Prabhu (Pavish Narayan), a middle-class culinary student with dreams of becoming a chef, falls in love with Nila (Anikha Surendran), a girl from an ultra-rich family. However, their relationship comes to an unexpected halt due to a secret known only to Prabhu. A year later, after disappearing without a trace, Prabhu receives an invitation to Nila's destination wedding. Seeking closure, he decides to attend the wedding in Goa. The rest of the story unravels the events that unfold between the couple and their friends.

Debutant Pavish Narayan delivers a natural yet polished performance, perfectly fitting his role and making the audience empathize with him. Anikha Surendran shines with both her beauty and her compelling portrayal of a girl caught between love and family. Mathew Thomas brings humor as the hero’s loyal friend, while Priya Prakash Varrier does well in her limited screen time. Rabiya Khatoon is convincing as the heroine’s possessive friend, and Ramya Ranganathan leaves an impression as the wedding planner. Veteran actors R. Sarathkumar, Aadukalam Naren, and Saranya Ponvannan bring depth to their parental roles. Dhanush and GV Prakash Kumar make memorable cameos, while Priyanka Mohan adds to the entertainment with her dance in the Golden Sparrow song.
Story - screenplay - direction: Dhanush presents a love story with a straightforward conflict and crafts an engaging narrative. The film revolves around three men and four women, all entangled in romantic relationships. The first half sets up the premise and conflict, while the real fun unfolds in the second half, which takes place entirely at a resort in Goa. Dhanush effectively captures the emotions in the latter half and leaves the ending open, hinting at a sequel. Despite its lighthearted and fun approach, the emotional depth between the lead couple is beautifully portrayed.
Other departments: Leon Britto's cinematography is stylish, with a strong focus on fluorescent (neon) tones that enhance the film’s visual appeal. G. V. Prakash Kumar’s background score complements the narrative well, and the Golden Sparrow song is a delight to watch on screen. Jackie’s production design adds depth to the setting, while Prasanna GK’s crisp editing keeps the pacing tight. Rambabu Gosala’s lyrics suit the situations effectively, and the high production values further elevate the film’s overall quality.
Analysis: Jabilamma Neeku Antha Kopama is a contemporary love story that revolves around a man navigating the aftermath of a breakup. Dhanush shines in the second half, skillfully blending emotions with entertainment for an engaging experience. He also hints at the possibility of a sequel. This light-hearted rom-com caters to Gen Z audiences, and the second half makes it a worthwhile watch.
