Vijay Govindam (Vijay Deverakonda) is a well mannered and a decent guy who follows traditions very religiously. He falls in love with Geetha (Rashmika Mandanna) who he spots at a temple. They accidentally meet again on their travel in a bus. Due to a wrong advice by friends, Vijay makes an unintentional mistake. She hates him for that. But both of them are forced to travel together for a few days. Rest of the story is all about how Geetha realises that Vijay is decent.
Vijay Deverakonda: Vijay Deverakonda is selecting contrasting characterisations. He has shown that lazy elegance in Pelli Choopulu film and shown alpha male’s animalistic aggression in Arjun Reddy. In Geetha Govindam, he chooses a submissive character who is dominated and victimised by a female. It’s very difficult to for an actor whose aura is dominated by aggression to do a submissive character and justify it, Vijay nailed it perfectly. His comedy timing is impeccable. His portrayal of Govind character in this film is another example of how an actor can elevate characterization and scenes with his performance. 
Others: Rashmika Mandanna plays a dominating character and does it excellently. Her expressions towards end in emotional scenes show her fine capability of acting. Nithya Menen plays a guest role. Anu Emmanuel plays another cameo. It’s an usual role for Subbaraju and he justifies. Rahul Ramakrishna lives up to his Arjun Reddy reputation as hero’s buddy in this film with thoroughly entertaining performance. Vennela Kishore is superbly hilarious as groom in final act of the film. Nagababu plays the role of hero’s father, but his character is dubbed by somebody else (may be because his voice is affected which can be seen in Jabardasth shows). Annapurna is seen in many films recently and she did well in this film too. 
Story - screenplay - direction: It’s a story that runs on characterization. It’s about an youngster who does things without thinking about consequences. This guy has no filter and expresses whatever that occurs in his mind. The story is about a silly mistake done by him after following a stupid advise of a friend. It’s a screenplay based film. Though story and screenplay are predictable, the characterizations and performances of lead pairs brought freshness to it. Writer and director Parasuram writes an engaging screenplay and interesting characterizations. Some of the scenes appear routine, but he makes it up with screenplay. Geetha Govindam is the best film in his career. 
Other departments: Gopi Sundar comes up with nice tunes and good background score. Inkem Inkem Kavale song is the best followed by Yenti Yenti song. Vachindamma song is also good. Cinematography by Manikandam is good. He used different scheme for photography as we can see most of the lights in the film are foggy. Dialogues written by Parasuram are entertaining most of the time and emotional lines are also good. Editing by Marthand K Venkatesh is neat. Art direction is very good. Production values by GA2 banner are good.
Analysis: Geetha Govindam has predictability attached to it. What works for the film are characterizations and performances by lead characters. Vijay Deverakonda amazes you how smoothly he transforms 180 degrees from one end of the spectrum in Arjun Reddy (m*******d) to the other end in Geetha Govindam (madam). Geetha Arts comes up with a universal entertainer that caters to all kind of crowds (especially families and youth). You may watch it!
