Siddhu Jonnalagadda worked for films like Josh, Bheemili and Orange in the past. He got his first recognition in the mercurial role he did in the latest release LBW (Life Before Wedding). Here are the excerpts chitchat -
Background:
I was born and brought up in Hyderabad. I m a B .TECH graduate and pursuing my MBA right now. I ve acted in some films previously like Josh , Bheemli Kabbadi Jattu , Orange . LBW is my first film as a lead. I ve always been interested in arts and inclined towards films. My mom has been a part of All India Radio since 25 years. I used to go to all kinds of recordings and music shows with her. That triggered an urge to learn music. I learned TABLA for about 4 years.I ve grown up Watching Prabhu Deva sir and MJ dance, couldn prevent being inspired. Learned dance for about 5 years. After B.TECH, if a lot of people dont see you working in a software company , they conclude that your career has gone to dogs. I really couldn't imagine myself in front of a computer from 9-5 in a software company So i declined an offer from one. Then i firmly decided that i will pursue a career in acting. :-)
How did you get an opportunity to work for lbw?
I saw a casting call in idlebrain.com and sent in my pictures. They auditioned me for both the lead roles and asked me which one would i be interested in, I was really confused beacause both the roles had a good scope for performance. Finally Praveen sir felt that i should play Rishi's character.
What is the character u r playing in the movie and explain about it
I'm playing a character called Rishi. Rishi is one of those guys whom every girl would fall for. He is a casanova, who doesnt give a damn about anything in his life. He has a simple mantra. Party hard... no matter what. He is like one of those guys you can find in every group of youngsters.
What kind of movies do you like and how do you want to model yourself in the future?
I like all kinds of movies as long as they do not bore me. Most of the movies are definitely larger than life , but i would not like something if its too over the head. I dont try hard to make a perfect logic out of every movie i see. As at the end of the day entertainment is the purpose.
I m a movie buff and i ve grown up watching a lot of films. I m a big fan of Venkatesh sir. I aspire to become like him someday. Nani anna also inspires me a lot, the kind of scripts he chooses really reflect his versatality as an actor. I would want to be a part of sensible cinema, do a variety of roles . I m still learning and i get confused some times , thanks to Satya sir ( director Bheemli kabbadi jattu) and Praveen sir ( director LBW) and Nani anna for being there to guide me.
Tell us about some interesting/funny incidents happen while shooting?
There is one particular scene where Rishi needs to be all romantic and show the moon to Anu and try getting romantic with her. Unfortunately while we were shooting , the way camera was setup and the framing was done , moon was somewhere behind us. The shot started, i look at one particular point in the sky and say " Moon choodu entha beautiful ga undi" Anu totally looks somewhere else, and with a lot of emotion says "ya , its so beautiful". Praveen sir says cut , walks to us , and says "Siddu kanyakumari lo chupisthunnadu .... nuvvu kashmir lo choosthunnav". This was really a funny moment on the set.
What are your future projects?
As of now i have nothing in my hand. I am not in a hurry. Honestly, i m in a stage where scripts and directors choose me, Hopefully, after LBW i ll get some good offers. thank you! :-)
